The owner takes care of every detail. They are really kind. Food it’s delicious. Great for a date. Since the place is small, book your table.
My friend made a reservation for 4 people (plus a baby) on a random winter Tuesday night. Even on a weekday night, it was grooving with people so make sure to have a reservation! Our table was ready once we got there and it was very nice of them to accomodate us with our infant in her car seat. Unfortunately, its not a kid friendly restaurant. However, the service was impeccable and the food delicious. We had the 50$ tasting menu and there were good sized sharing plates for 4. It's a nice place to go with friends but not in large groups (4-6 is perfect) as its a very cozy restaurant. I would go back again for their tasting menu at a different price point. It's also located in a residential area so parking might be a challenge.
Not the best experience. The worst part was my steak. Supposed to be medium rare but was served well done. Half of it was burnt. I can understand the place was crowded but if you can't keep the quality to the standard, then don't serve that many people and please don't serve a burnt steak. It's Impossible the cook didn't see it since the steak was cut in too. Entries were good but octopus was a bit overcooked. I don't recommend going there. I will not.
Nice brunch menu! And personal are very courteous!
A very nice local restaurant. Waiter was very nice and professional. Made food explanation so well, Food was amazing. They have tasting menu, ranging from 20$-100$ per person. We did have a lot of food. was very full by the end.
I was lucky to attend their last boozy brunch. Amazing atmosphere accompanied by great drinks and a very kind server (I think his name is gabriel). Thank you.
Fancy and expensive place, but the food is 👍👍👍👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻. 5 stars ⭐️ service.
Small but really great restaurant. A real Gem 🙏
Best food I have ever had so far in my life; went with friends for supper, enjoyed great and delicious starters; calamari salad, frog legs, Ricotta raviolis, langoustines & «aurore» sauce. Main course: White fish & Italian wedding garnish, Veal chop à la milanaise, pasta with eggplants. The dessert chocolate hazelnut cake, so yummy. Great wine. Best service ever. Thank you Adam. Merci Chris, nous avons adoré la nourriture. If you want to experience perfection, you have to try this place.
Amazing menu. great service. Knowledgeable and kind staff. Definitely a place where I'd take a date I want to impress.
All around lovely meal here. The food was fantastic, and service—front of the house and behind the bar—was wonderful and attentive. I only wish I had gotten to try their brunch as well!
This restaurant is so good. The meal are very testy. They have the chef choices menu at different prices. This is one of my favorite restaurants. I recommend !
I have dined here many times, not only for dinner but also for brunch and can safely say it is one of my favourite restaurants in Montreal. The food is always amazing and the staff are also very knowledgeable on their food menu and drinks menu. The price is definitely worth it and the portions are perfect too. The menu changes (seasonal perhaps?) so you know they are always keeping things fresh. The BRUNCH... Amazing, I have had nearly all the items on the brunch menu. My favourites are definitely the Pain Doré and the very big brunch meal that is served with bone marrow and Boudin Noir.Very cozy atmosphere and cool vibe. I have brought groups of friends from out of town (and even out of country!) and they have returned with their friends and family. I always recommend this to family and friends. Also helps to make reservation as it is a small place but DEFINITELY worth it.
Fabulous food, rushed service. This place is indeed a hidden gem, nestled in a quiet residential neighbourhood called the “Plateau”. I’m from out of town so this was a nice change of pace from the usually busy noisy Montreal restaurants. It’s very small, but cozy and lively - clearly loved by locals. The food was outstanding, I had the Korean tartar and it was unique and delicious. The whole dual seating times was a real bummer though, our server was rushing us from the moment we sat down and it truly took away from the evening. Would I go back? Yes, still. The value was high and it was a business meeting so I couldn’t try the Wednesday night chef special that was a lot of food and sounded awesome! No decaf espresso, Cappuccino was still great.
The best pasta and donair I've had! The pasta was al dente while the sauce was buttery and lemony with tender lobster pieces. As for the donair appetizer, they used a crispy pork belly and it was divine (the picture was blurry because of the excitement to try it lol). Desserts were good but really their food is where it's at! Still, if you want to go for dessert, the chocolate mousse was better than the shortcake. Staff was very nice, if you have any questions in regards to recommendations as well as the food they'll describe it to the best of their abilities. Place was clean and atmosphere was awesome. Thank you Le Chien Fumant! You easily became one of my favourite restaurants!
One of my favorite places to grab an amazing bite in the Plateau.
Top refined and tasty food in Montreal from a student of the Joe Beef school...Fantastic food, value and atmosphere. A rare combination. We are a couple of Montreal based professionals, seasoned executives with millions of miles and countless dining experiences worldwide ranging from Michelin 3-star establishments to greasy spoons and everything in between. Point being: we know what good food, good wines, good cocktails, good service and overall good experience and value cost, look and should feel like.In this case, the rating is deserved because of owners Nicolas and Maksim and the top rated specials and original cocktails! ... Just can't resist!
Food is tasty. Food tasty & generous for a Sunday brunch. Just our luck, had another very loud group nearby.
I had the best ever brunch here. I can't believe the price point being so low or the large serving sizes. The service was even great. The chef is going places. Come here while you can.
They called us to cancel our reservation for Valentine's night the previous day to finally change the hour to 7 instead of 9.We decided to cancel it because it didn't suits us, we called 2h before and they charged us 60$ for not showing up even if we had called. Amazing customer service
Food is incredible, service is really tight, but you can feel that the staff is under a lot of pressure to deliver. Overall, we had a very good experience.
A very charming place with yummy carnivore-oriented food and truly excellent service (it is a French bistro but the servers were perfectly and graciously accommodating to us anglo tourists). The desserts are excellent too. This definitely isn’t place to go if you have any vegetarians in your party though, just FYI. The only thing that wasn’t quite perfectly perfect is that one of the dishes was supposed to have chanterelles and instead used basic champignons. That didn’t matter to us because the end result was still yummy though. And you gotta agree- if that’s the biggest complaint one can have about a restaurant- it sure sounds like a place to check out!
Amazing food. One of the best beef tartares I’ve ever had.
First of all the staff is amazing. Very welcoming, know exactly what their products are and have a magnificent wine list they know top to bottom and give great recommendations. One of the best restaurants in the city, period.
my favourite place in the plateau/east laurier. Just amazing food for a good price. So sad they are no longer doing brunches. they made the best brunch i ever had.
Foods great most of the time. But the menu is always changing so it is hard to plan your next visit. The staff could definitely use some more people skills
Small intimate and moody little neighbourhood restaurant with a menu that changes depending on available ingredients and the chef’s whimsy. I’ve never eaten anything I’ve not liked... actually, I’ve never eaten anything here that has not made be pause from pure joy. The kitchen is open very late. The wine selection and cocktails are also noteworthy. Simple cocktails made with care and passion. Might be good to make a reservation. Great seating at the bar, with a view on the kitchen. Honestly I’ve some some of my best eating here.
What a place .. the vibe is just amazing !!! Open style kitchen, especially if you're sitting at the bar. Great wine and cocktails selection. Real cozy and homey feeling, lights and atmosphere are amazing when the sun sets or gets darker outside. Owners are always there to greet you. Great and coZy dishes with bold and tasty innovative dishes !!!
if i could give 6 stars on 5 i would. one of the best restaurants in mtl, considering price:quality, service and ambiance. every touch point is perfect!
Very good - great food and service - feel good vibe
Great food , nice cosy atmosphere, friendly staff
Great food, terrible service;Appetizers and mains were amazing, service left something to be desired. Like some of the other reviews, we felt very rushed and were told what time we had to leave as soon as we sat down. Server was cold and unfamiliar with the menu when we asked for recommendations. Dinner was good but dessert was not to our liking. We ate only a small portion and were never asked if we enjoyed it. Also, we were brought the wrong bill (for less than what we owed) and when we informed the server, no thank you or apology. Would reccomend going somewhere else. There are lots of great restaurants in Montreal where the employees actually care.
So good, I almost don't want to tell anyone about it. Whether you are up for brunch Sunday morning or dinner and amazing house cocktails after a late shift, this place is a worthwhile destination.
What an absolute delight - the pork belly donair, lobster pasta and ribeye were excellent. A wonderful atmosphere in a quiet neighborhood. Highly recommended!
HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE LATE NIGHT EATING SPOT. HIGH END HOME MADE CUISINE THAT CHANGES DAILY! TRY THE CHINESE CALAMARI(SWEET CRUNCHY AND SPICY) THE KOREAN TARTAR THAT YOU MIX YOURSELF THE LOBSTER ROLL WHEN ITS IN SEASON, THE STEAK FOR 2, YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG HERE
Best food in Montreal. Don't miss this opportunity. I went with 5 person and everything was well made and succulent. The waiter was very attentive and patience with us. We had the tasting menu at 60$ each and we had plenty of food for left over.
Nice atmosphere, great food, friendly service and open late for dinner. Good combination for a winner restaurant!
The choice to do a tasting what amazing! It's a bit expensive but the food taste amazing and the service is constant and exceptional!
Fantastic food and very prompt service. Small place, so book a reservation early! The calamari appetizer and the veal chop main were unreal. Would absolutely eat there again.
Food was pretty amazing. Their chicken was so tender and juicy. The place is small and cozy but it can be loud. The waiter was very nice. It's just a shame that there's 2 services. At some point, the waiter will ask you to leave if ever you reserved for the first service.
Honestly I have nothing bad to say about the food as everything was tasty however the waiter I had completely ruined the experience I had, I would probably never go back just because of him. Rude, rushed service, didn'tn't show much interest in explaining the menu.
Great neighborhood restaurant, menu changes frequently with amazing staples. Very knowledgeable staff always willing to help. Great late night hours and superb cocktail options. Highly recommended it.
The best meal I had in Montreal 😍 the chef's special $50/person course was enough for a group of 4. Every dish that came out was amazing! Will be coming back here for sure!
Had a truly magical experience dining here... beyond words!
I NEED THAT TOM YUM AGAIN 😍 They serve a great tasting menu for a nice price and I'm obsessed with one the appetizers which is the reinvented Tom Yum. However I find the seabass really dry.
Delicious hearty food, excellent for a Montreal winter supper.
A classically upscale restaurant combined with all the Montreal quirkiness you could want. The interior and exterior decor are bizarre (in a good way) and whimsical. Menus are on chalkboards, as when you go to Joe Beef or the Chien's neighbor Maison Publique. And the food is delicious! If you're a seafood fan, this is clearly the spot for you and omnivores in general. Even though I only eat fish, no shellfish, I had an excellent main, and there was one vegetarian option. The service was very attentive - the wine never stopped being poured - and while bustling, we could hear each other speak. I'll be back!
Very cute. A bit on the pricey side but nice for a night out.
One of my favorites spots for brunch so far! Tacos and eggs benedict were original, delicious, and perfect size. The price is regular. The service was very good.I recommend this place!
Very interesting concept. We decided we want to pay $50 each, and the chef took care of the rest.
